SC60-D Self-Propelled Scarifier

Ideal scarifier for professional garden care

The Mantovani SC60-D scarifier is a self propelled scarifier, designed and built in Italy to deliver consistent performance over time thanks to its long-life blades and to be a reliable tool for gardeners, lawn maintenance companies and groundsmen.

The stylish grey and yellow unit is pedestrian push and rolls on 4 wheels with metal rims - the scarifier baldes are powered by a super relaible Honda 4-stroke engine. Transmission is via a double toothed-belt for constant grip and power transmission with a built-in belt tensioner on a 60mm double bearing which maintains a proper belt tension and reduces wear - reducing normal maintenance work. The bearing is encased in a specialised cast iron support.

The Mantovani 60cm scarifier ensures precise, effective work on different types of ground and at 90kg, it's a true heavyweight to be able to cope with the thickest thatch and moss around.

This model has a Honda GP200 engine producing 6.5HP for reliability and power. The blades are 42 x 2.4mm thick swing knives arranged in an arc around a reinforced shaft. The knives are heat treated for durability and are spring loaded which allows both verticutting, with vertical cuts from about half an inch deep, and the gentle removal of thatch by skimming the soil. The wheels are solid for better stability when cutting into uneven ground and the height adjustment at the front is a simple threaded knob with large handgrip and a locking bar. There are individual knives to different cutting cassettes: a fixed double sided blade cassette and a hybrid swing knives plus sprung tines for verticutting, thatch removal and moss raking.
